Injury Management

The Work Doctor offers comprehensive injury management services and strives to not only treat the injured worker, but work alongside employers to promote a smooth transition back into the workplace. Our clinics are fully equipped with treatment rooms that are capable of treating most workplace injuries. When visiting our clinics, the injured worker is offered access to our experienced team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and allied health professionals to ensure a fast recovery with the right treatment. Our clinic offers the convenience of having imaging and physiotherapy available onsite, preventing delays and allowing an easy process for the injured worker.

At The Work Doctor, all injuries are seen by an Occupational Physician or Registrar to ensure that industry knowledge and occupational experience is applied during treatment. This allows the patient to have a tailored approach that suits their profession and job role.

Injury Management Process:

  • Contact our administrative team on (07) 5574 5792 and provide us with the injured workers name, contact number, date of birth and the employer. If you do not have an existing account with us, this will need to be created before the injured worker's appointment - the administrative team will guide you through the steps of creating an account
  • The injured worker will be triaged and an appointment will be offered to you for the same or next business day
  • An appointed injury management coordinator, the injured workers supervisor or a nominated representative is welcome to attend the appointment with the injured worker
  • An Occupational Physician will consult and treat the injured worker
  • A WorkCover Work Capacity Certificate will be completed according to Queensland's legislation and requirements
  • The Doctor will provide an opportunity at the end of the appointment to discuss suitable duties with the injured worker and their employer, supervisor or coordinator

Following their appointment, the Doctor will determine the date of the next review appointment and if necessary, refer the injured worker to an allied health professional. This may include:

  • Serology/Blood testing
  • Physiotherapy
  • Imaging
  • Specialist referrals
